The Easiest Raised Garden Planter Bed

 

The Easiest Raised Garden Planter Bed is the best way to reinvent your garden with the Oldcastle Planter Wall Block. This functional wall block allows you to easily create a raised garden bed, border or even outdoor furniture. Simply stack and link the blocks with 2 x 6 wooden boards. In just 30 minutes you can have your DIY garden built - just add soil or mulch and you are ready to start planting.

Gather Your Materials

1 - Roll of Landscape Fabric (Ensure that the size of the roll covers the entire bottom plus 2" past the Walls of your Planter)

4 - Planter Wall Blocks Per Level. (For this Guide we will be doing a three tiered Planter so we will need 12 in total)

4 - 2x6 Sienna PT per Level cut to the length you need. (For this guide we will be doing a 24" by 48" Planter so we will need 6 @ 18.5", and 6 @ 42.5")

4 - 1/2" Rebar (For a good sturdy foundation ensure that the rebar is a minimum of 16" into the ground)

4 - 2x6 Sienna PT for Capping ( For our Guide Planter we will have 2 @ 36", and 2 @ 48")

1LB - 3-1/2" Brown Deck Screws

As Needed - Garden Soil

Optional

1 - PL 600 Landscape Block Adhesive

Construction

  • Lay Landscape Fabric Down, This will prevent Weeds from growing from the ground.
  • Lay your wall blocks into the formation you desire using the boards you cut to size as a guide to keep everything square. Working one layer at a time place your other blocks and if your using it put a bead of PL 600 Landscape Adhesive down.
  • Once you've reached the height your looking for, for us it was 3 tiers pin the corners into place using the rebar.
  • Screw the Capping into the Side Boards.
  • Cut or cover with dirt the Excess Landscape Fabric.
  • Fill with Garden Soil and enjoy your Home Grown Vegetables
